Pakistan-based handles under scanner? Delhi Police registers 4 FIRs over online posts
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Tuesday registered four FIRs over allegedly fake online posts circulated since October 10, while social media handles based in Pakistan remain under scrutiny as part of the investigation, news agency PTI reported.October 10 was the scheduled date for a protest by the youth-led pressure group Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which had planned to demand the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Election Commission's conduct of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. However, a crackdown by the Centre largely curtailed the protest, with more than 7,000 people detained across Delhi. Those detained included members of the CJP's core team and several political leaders, among them four former chief ministers: Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Pinarayi Vijayan and Manik Sarkar.
