The Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ogun State, Abayomi Sanyaolu, has said President Bola Tinubu has nothing more to offer Nigeria.
Speaking during the campaign flag-off of the APM and the unveiling of the party’s Ogun West senatorial candidate in Ilaro, Ogun State, Sanyaolu advocated a change in national leadership and called for the emergence of a new generation of leaders.
According to him, Nigeria needs a leader who understands the challenges facing ordinary citizens and is committed to prioritising their welfare.
He insisted that the country’s next president should have the energy and capacity to address its development challenges.

He argued that the country needed a leader who would place the interests of Nigerians above personal considerations, adding that integrity, the fear of God and genuine concern for humanity should be central to leadership.
He described the APM Presidential candidate and governor of Oyo State, Abiodun Makinde, as a leader capable of continuing the work of national development.
Sanyaolu said, “In my opinion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should complete his tenure and allow a new generation of leadership to emerge, with Governor Seyi Makinde given the opportunity to continue the work of national development.
“I want to talk about the presidential candidate of our great party, Engineer Seyi Makinde, whom I believe will emerge as Nigeria’s president in 2027, whether people believe it or not.
“I am not condemning anybody. I am simply expressing my political opinion. We need a leader who can move around, interact with ordinary Nigerians and understand their day-to-day challenges rather than remain behind closed doors.”
Sanyaolu described Ogun State as an important political centre in the country, noting that prominent Nigerians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the late Moshood Abiola and Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, had contributed to its national significance.
He also urged voters in Ogun Central Senatorial District to scrutinise candidates seeking their votes in 2027.
He appealed to women to support female candidates they considered capable of representing their interests and addressing their concerns.
The party’s governorship candidate, Prince Babajide Rotimi, urged residents of Ogun West Senatorial District to vote for APM candidates in the 2027 general election, saying their emergence would pave the way for meaningful development in the area.
He called on the electorate to support the party, stressing that the district needed purposeful leadership capable of addressing its developmental challenges.
