Don C, the designer and entrepreneur behind apparel brand Just Don and longtime member of Kanye West’s inner circle, is parting ways with some of the rarest sneakers and accessories in his extensive collection.
The upcoming Don C closet sale is part of StockX’s newly introduced Listed series, which kicked off in September with Episode 1 featuring former NBA player P.J. Tucker. For its second episode, StockX has partnered with the Chicago native to offer a range of hyper-rare footwear and high-fashion accessories.
A total of 14 items from Don C’s collection will be up for grabs including eight sneakers, five designer bags and an NBA x Louis Vuitton leather jacket collaboration. Each of the eight shoes included in the group are some of the rarest pairs around, with numerous samples and several styles that were never released at retail in any form.
“For too long, sneakers and luxury fashion lived in separate worlds. A lot of what’s in this collection comes from the moments those worlds collided, and I was fortunate enough to be in the room for some of it. But no matter how monumental a piece is, for me, collecting has never been about keeping things locked up. The best pieces should be worn and seen. I’ve had my time with these, and now it’s time for them to move on. Honestly, a few of them might belong in a museum,” Don C said in a press release.
The museum-worthy lineup includes Kanye West’s first-ever Nike collaboration, a “College Dropout” Air 180 in celebration of his first album. The leopard print-accented sneaker was never released at retail, and it’s believed that as few as just five pairs were produced.
Other unreleased sneaker highlights include sample versions of Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 4s in both brown and purple and an unreleased Nike LeBron 9 Elite in a head-turning volt colorway.
Eminem’s coveted Carhartt Air Jordan 4 collaboration, both the black and gray colorways of the Kaws x Air Jordan 4 collaboration and Kanye West’s Louis Vuitton Jasper sneaker in cream round out the footwear selections.
“Don C has spent his career shaping how sneakers and fashion show up in culture, and his closet reads like a history of that crossover,” Jerry Gaines, vice president of brand marketing at StockX, said in a press release.
StockX’s Listed Episode 2 starring Don C and its accompanying product listings will launch Tuesday at noon E.T.
