Colombo, Oct. 13 (Daily Mirror) - Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa underwent an angiogram test this morning, but no decision has yet been made on whether she requires surgery, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.
He said a medical panel from the National Hospital in Colombo would assess her condition and recommend the appropriate treatment.
Responding to reports that Ms. Rajapaksa was due to undergo open-heart surgery, the Minister clarified that she had undergone only an angiogram to identify any blockages or calcium deposits in her arteries.
He said the medical panel would decide whether she needed coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery or the insertion of a stent, based on the medical findings.
