PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) will announce its candidates for the Melaka state election this Saturday, the same day Pakatan Harapan (PH) is scheduled to unveil its lineup.
According to a poster shared by Umno Supreme Council member Ahmad Maslan on X this morning, BN will announce its candidates at the Melaka International Trade Centre from 8.30pm.
PH is scheduled to announce its candidates at the Hang Jebat Stadium car park in Melaka from 8pm to 11pm. PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim is expected to attend the event.
Nomination day for the Melaka election is scheduled for Oct 31, with early voting on Nov 10 and polling day on Nov 14.
Melaka BN chief Ab Rauf Yusoh was previously reported as saying that the coalition would announce its candidates on Oct 28.
In the 2021 state election, BN won 21 of the 28 seats, while PH secured five and Perikatan Nasional won two.
