Where Jaguars sit in early AFC playoff picture after Week 6 loss

Now 4-2 on the season after a Week 6 loss to the Texans, where do the Jacksonville Jaguars stand in the AFC South and AFC playoff races?

Had the Jaguars been able to come away with a win over Houston, they might have buried the Texans in the division race, and Jacksonville would have positioned themselves as the unquestioned favorite.

But now, while the Jaguars still comfortably have a lead -- especially with the Colts losing to the Titans -- things are a bit tighter.

AFC South standings after Week 6

1. Jaguars (4-2)
2. Colts (2-4)
3. Texans (2-4)
4. Titans (1-5)

In the overall AFC playoff picture, the Colts are the early three-seed, behind the 5-0 Chiefs and the 5-1 Bills.

Along with the Jaguars, the Browns, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, and Ravens all have 4-2 records as well. Jacksonville holds the tie-breaker over the four-seed Browns with the better conference win percentage.

AFC playoff standings after Week 6

1. Chiefs (5-0)
2. Bills (5-1)
3. Jaguars (4-2)
4. Browns (4-2)
5. Patriots (4-2)
6. Broncos (4-2)
7. Steelers (4-2)

There is still a long way to go, but things are tight in the AFC playoff picture.
