Reports in Italy and Germany indicate that Milan are closing in on an agreement with former Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig director Markus Krösche, who looks set to come in and take the role of Head of Football in San Siro.
Kicker: Milan could reach Krösche agreement by the end of the week
Krösche handed in his resignation from his position as sporting CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt and his release was unanimously approved by the board, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Sunday.
Krösche had been heavily linked with a move to join the Milan set-up earlier this summer: The Bianconeri have been restructuring their senior management team after parting company with head coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani in one fell swoop the day after the disappointing 2025-26 season ended.
Allegri has since been replaced by Ruben Amorim, and a reshuffle of the other positions means that Massimio Calvelli is now CEO, Hendrick Almstadt is the head of player trading and Bobby Gardiner is the director of football intelligence.
Milan were ultimately unable to reach a final agreement with Krösche and Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer, despite reports claiming that the Rossoneri were willing to offer the exec €10m per season in wages.
But according to reports over the last 24 hours, they are now closing in on an agreement for the German to come in as head of football.
According to reports from Kicker, Milan and Krösche could come to an agreement by the end of this week.
Though Krösche resigned from his position with Eintracht Frankfurt, he recently signed a contract extension with the German club until the summer of 2028, which remains valid, and means that Milan will have to pay a compensation fee if they are to appoint him to the role of head of football.
