Have Maya Jama, James Acaster, and King Kenny accidentally set themselves up to fail?
Celebrity Traitors viewers have thrown a fresh theory into the ring, suggesting the three Traitors have got themselves into a sticky situation that will be hard to come back from.
On Friday night, millions watched as what can only be described as the unthinkable happened – the traitorous trio was declared the most trustworthy by the rest of the group.
The latest mission involved retrieving money bags from scarecrows and detonating them, leaving just three standing, bearing the names of players who would receive a mysterious power.
Enter The Dagger, which granted one player a double vote at the roundtable and which the Traitors agreed was safest placed with social media star Kenny.
The last episode ended on a cliffhanger, with the contestants forced to vote again between Sharon Rooney and Joanne McNally for banishment – but fans reckon the fallout is going to be make-or-break for the Traitors.
Taking to X, @morris_movies asked the very valid question: ‘What’s going to happen when the three most trusted players, the pinnacle of the Faithful, all of whom are un-shielded, The Trustworthy Trio… all walk back into Breakfast un-murdered next week?’
‘The only logical reason for that: they are all Traitors’, he added.
Indeed, it’s going to be tough for Maya, James, and Kenny to explain their reasons for survival, especially given how Julie Hesmondhalgh and Joe Lycett, who were deemed the most trustworthy in episode one, didn’t manage to swerve suspicions.
‘Absolutely this, why are the ones who won’t be banished still there….’, asked @Survivinthe20s, noting how the Faithfuls’ unintentional trust in the Traitors means they’re unlikely to be voted off at a roundtable, leaving murder their only option for elimination.
‘And now this should be the biggest clue!’, @morris_movies added. ‘They’ve just pretty loudly said “THESE ARE THE THREE PEOPLE WHO WILL NEVER BE BANISHED” and all three are about to walk in at breakfast.. You’d like to think…’
@SinghIsLFC said: ‘Yea how has the faithfuls not clocked on that Kenny and James A who are really good “detectives/faithfuls” have not been murdered yet… 😂’
Others suggested that viewers are thinking too highly of the Faithfuls’ abilities in suggesting they’d clock the Traitors escaping murder, with @WhoPotterVian quipping that they ‘don’t seem the brightest bunch’.
‘That would require the faithfuls to work together!’, said @Smith_LoveWins, as fingers currently point in all different directions, accusing Sharon, Joanne, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, James Blunt, and Sebastian Croft.
Basically, anyone who isn’t a Traitor and who wasn’t in the room when Ross Kemp was killed in plain sight before the only other witness – Jerry Hall – was sensationally banished.
It remains to be seen which, if any, Traitors will make it to the end, with just two episodes remaining before we discover who won the jackpot for their charity.
However, BBC viewers are already pretty certain that James and Kenny are home dry.
@dayasoinlove tweeted: ‘it’s looking very likely we’ll see our first recruited traitor wins in uk history!! and it’ll be so deserved, i see no way kenny or james acaster get banished’.
@misanthropeyrk believes ‘Maya is the Traitor most at risk’, since discussions are already being had about her name not coming up.
Plus, she went rogue on Friday night and opted to banish Heartstopper actor Sebastian, going against the majority.
‘maya voting for bash…bad move methinks, you can see on his face how confused he is because it makes no sense considering the general consensus was either sharon or joanne and kenny didn’t even vote for him!!’, wrote @shanfourmy.
@LA_Way agreed it was a ‘big slip-up’ from the TV presenter.
Do you think the three Traitors are going to win?

Definitely - they're home dryCheck

Something could still changeCheck
‘Kenny mentioned Bash, Maya thought “he has a dagger, he’ll vote bash so that makes 3 votes, if James picks up on that 4 can be enough to get him out”. She didnt read the room and just put a target on herself with Bash.’
Maya is the only original Traitor left standing, having recruited a reluctant James after Richard E Grant’s demise, followed by Kenny after Hannah Fry failed to convince the group of her Faithful status.
And while there are certainly debates to have about whether this is a season of incredibly savvy, scheming Traitors or just truly foolish Faithfuls, there’s no denying the cloaked interlopers are in a strong position ahead of the final.
The Celebrity Traitors continues next Thursday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
