Coinciding with the Dasara festivities, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) observed its 101st foundation day on Tuesday (October 20, 2026). On the occasion, the organisation’s chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered his annual foundation speech in which he highlighted the work that has been undertaken by the organisation in its centenary year.
“Under it’s outreach plan in the centenary year, RSS reached out to people in 4,61,127 villages in India,” he said adding that the Sangh managed to reach out to over 10 crore Hindu households in the last one year.
‘Storm coming in from West which hates culture, system, security and good fortune’
Speaking on the ongoing protests in several European countries, Mr. Bhagwat called this a “storm coming in from West which hates culture, system, security and good fortune.”
“We are hearing such news from France. We know what happened in Nepal, Bangladesh too,” he added.
Additionally, hinting at the recent protests across Delhi that have been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, he said, “They say situation will change with regime change but this has never happened in the past.”
“Such things are happening in India too, at present, but it’s very rare that a problem is solved with agitation,” he said.
“The world is not just facing environment crisis but also geo-political crisis. Economic insecurity is prevailing all across. Everything is getting destroyed due to power struggle across the globe. The world knows that India has an answer to all this,” Mr. Bhagwat said.
Mr. Bhagwat also turned his focus to other issues on the domestic front. He called for ban on drugs and narcotics, and added that RSS will work on this issue in the days to come. He also asked for regulation of OTT content.
