Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to leave Raymond James Stadium on Sunday with a 26-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, despite securing the comeback win, the Steelers quarterback expressed considerable frustration after the game over the condition of Tampa Bay’s home-field surface.
Following the game, Rodgers openly criticized the playing surface at Raymond James Stadium, raising concerns about the potential risks it poses to players’ safety.
“It’s got to be one of the worst surfaces in the league,” Rodgers said. “We’re talking about player safety. I’m very thankful to not get hurt. I’ve gotten hurt twice on this field, in my opinion, because of the turf. I don’t think it’s very safe out there.”

Rodgers’ criticism could reignite discussions about the condition of the playing surface at Raymond James Stadium and whether changes are necessary to improve player safety.
Meanwhile, the Steelers quarterback finished the game completing 33 of 49 pass attempts for 253 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Though Tampa Bay’s defense sacked him five times and disrupted Pittsburgh’s offense during the early stages, the veteran quarterback remained composed under pressure and guided his team to a victory that improved its record to 4-2.
The Steelers outscored the Buccaneers 23-3 across the fourth quarter and overtime to complete their comeback. Wide receiver DK Metcalf caught 11 passes for 93 yards, while Germie Bernard also recorded 11 receptions, finishing with 87 receiving yards and a touchdown that sealed Pittsburgh’s victory.
For Tampa Bay, the loss was particularly disappointing because the Buccaneers appeared to have control of the game for much of the afternoon before Pittsburgh mounted its late comeback. The loss dropped Tampa Bay to 1-5. Moreover, all five of the Buccaneers’ losses have come by seven points or fewer.
The Steelers will now travel to France to face the New Orleans Saints in their upcoming game.
