JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 20 — Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, has urged the government, private sector and local communities to take proactive, collective action to address the physical and psychological effects of haze on students and families.
Her Majesty stressed the urgent need for a coordinated response, emphasising long-term strategies rather than temporary measures introduced only during haze emergencies.
“Collective action, particularly from the government and private sector, is needed to plan proactive measures to address the physical and psychological effects of haze on students and families.
“Close cooperation from local communities is also essential to strengthen the effectiveness of home-based teaching and learning (PdPR).
“Relevant parties must also develop long-term strategic plans rather than relying solely on temporary solutions when haze emergencies occur,” Her Majesty said.
The royal message was shared in a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s official Facebook page.
The Queen delivered the message in connection with an audience involving the Johor government, parents and educators on haze-related issues and schooling at the Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) Tower, yesterday.
