Private island in Greece - described as a 'blank canvas' with three beautiful beaches - goes on sale for £3.8m

A tiny Greek Island has come on the market - if you have a cool £3.8million to spare.

Stroggilo Island in the Dodecanese, the group of islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea which includes Rhodes and Kos, is up for sale - offering potential buyers 'a blank canvas'.

The 54-acre isle, which once sheltered sailors seeking refuge from bad weather, promises year-round greenery, a stunning coastline, incredible views and raw natural beauty.

While there are plenty of neighbouring smaller islands nearby, including Patmos and Leros, the nearest popular tourist island is Kos, around 45 nautical miles away.

'As one of the most accessible undeveloped islands in the region, it offers a "blank canvas" for a visionary owner,' the listing explains.

The island has hit the market for €4.5million (£3.8million) on listing site Private Islands Inc.

It adds: 'This is a definitive legacy holding for those seeking to create a signature Mediterranean retreat.

'The island is currently non-developed, preserving its raw natural beauty while providing a clear path for future architectural projects.'

Meanwhile, it contains the stone ruins of an old house and a well, which could be useful for gaining building permits and future planning applications.

Stroggilo also has a natural water supply that can be made drinkable with basic filtration, the listing says.

Plus, it is positioned to potentially draw electricity from the nearby island of Marathos, which maintains an established power grid.

The agent adds: 'The scale and topography are perfectly suited for an exclusive private estate or a boutique eco-resort designed to harmonise with the landscape.

'The island features three natural beaches, including a signature 110-metre stretch of soft sand on the sheltered side, providing a pristine foundation for a beach club or private lounging area.

'The surrounding waters are famously clear, offering ideal conditions for swimming, diving, and sea sports.

'Its proximity to the Lipsoi and Arki island complexes makes it an ideal base for high-end island hopping.'

You can access the island by private boat or water taxi from Patmos or Leros, and Leros Airport provides daily connections to Athens.

The listing concludes: 'Whether developed into a boutique sanctuary or held as a private maritime park, its location near the Unesco-protected sites of Patmos ensures a lifestyle of cultural depth and permanent capital appreciation.'
