The left-wing Die Linke party in Germany emerged as the clear winner in the election to Berlin’s House of Representatives last month, securing just over a quarter of the votes cast.
It remains to be seen if the party will actually lead the city government, with the Social Democrat Party (SPD) and Greens as potential coalition partners.
