Kiturami is rolling out a boiler system that uses artificial intelligence to control heating and hot water in each room automatically. The system analyzes household routines to set heating temperatures room by room and predicts when hot water will be needed so it can be prepared in advance.
The company said on the 19th that it is launching the Kiturami Boiler AI Room-by-Room Heating System, which applies AI heating and hot water functions to its premium gas boiler, the Geokkuro NEW Condensing L10.
The system uses radar sensors built into each room's thermostat to detect whether anyone is present, then applies deep learning to tailor heating to each space. It cuts unnecessary heating by varying how quickly it lowers temperatures depending on how long a room stays empty.
For spaces left vacant for one to six hours, such as a home office or a child's room, the temperature drops 1 degree every two hours. For rooms unused for six to 12 hours, it drops 1 degree per hour, and for spaces empty for more than 12 hours, such as guest rooms, it drops 1 degree every 30 minutes. Users do not have to set heating times and temperatures individually, as the AI adjusts heating to match each room's usage pattern.
The system also features a rapid heating function that quickly raises indoor temperatures when residents return home. If the entire family has been out and turns on the heating after coming back, the boiler raises the heating water temperature to 85 degrees Celsius and warms the living room first for up to 10 minutes before automatically reverting to the previous settings.
AI has also been applied to hot water. The Hot Water AI Mode analyzes hot water usage over the previous six days, dividing each 24-hour day into 144 segments of 10 minutes each. Based on that analysis, the boiler begins storing heat about 10 minutes before hot water is expected to be used, allowing it to be delivered quickly. Older usage patterns are deleted automatically and recent data is continuously incorporated, allowing the system to adapt to changes in daily routines.
"The AI Room-by-Room Heating System focuses on having the boiler itself assess the user's hot water habits and the living patterns of each room to provide a customized heating environment," an official at Kiturami Boiler said. "By combining artificial intelligence with Kiturami's own storage-type heating and hot water technology, we will develop this into an AI boiler that delivers a comfortable and efficient living environment on its own, without customers having to pay attention to it."
