Uzbekistan ranked 64th out of 181 countries in the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD), improving its position by 11 places compared to the previous ranking, according to the Ministry of Digital Technologies. The country previously occupied 75th place in the index, which evaluates the development of national postal systems and their integration into international postal networks.
The Integrated Index for Postal Development assesses countries based on their progress in developing postal services, the efficiency of their national postal systems and their level of integration into international postal networks. According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies, modernization of postal infrastructure, expansion of available services and implementation of digital solutions are important factors in improving the sector's competitiveness.
The ministry also highlighted the expanding role of postal services beyond traditional letter and parcel delivery. Postal infrastructure is increasingly being used to support e-commerce, logistics and international trade connections. The development of these services is among the areas identified by the ministry as important for the postal sector.
