Bulgaria requests military aircraft and air defence systems from NATO
The measures were announced following a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels, where security in the Black Sea was discussed.
In addition to aircraft, drones, and radar systems, NATO member states have sent or will send intelligence agents and teams to conduct forensic analysis of the explosives, NATO spokesperson Colonel Martin O’Donnell said.
For the past two days, an American P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft has been patrolling over Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast. The aircraft was relocated to Varna on October 18.
