The MP specifically appealed to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to set aside their differences and campaign under a common cause.
"Kwa wale wenzetu wengine wenye wako katika opposition tunawaomba nyinyi wote pamoja na Sifuna mkuje pamoja," Babu said, making a direct appeal for collective action.
He stressed that discord among opposition ranks would create an opening that Ruto's camp could exploit.
"Maanake kama amko united tutakuwa na shida kubwa sana hapa nchini Kenya," Babu warned, acknowledging the stakes of the approaching election cycle.
Warning over fragmentation
Babu reserved his most pointed remarks for the consequences of a fragmented opposition going into the polls.
"Hatutaki tuachie Kasongo nafasi kwa sababu tukikuwa divided we shall be finished separately. We shall be hanged separately," he declared, using the reference to Ruto to underscore his concern about the political cost of disunity.
He concluded with a rallying call: "But united we stand."
The remarks reflect broader tensions within opposition circles, where disagreements over party affiliations, presidential ambitions and the direction of anti-government movements have complicated efforts to organise a coherent challenge to Ruto's re-election bid.
