By Zoila Palma: Mopan Technical High School is appealing to Belizeans, friends of Belize, businesses and organizations to support several projects aimed at improving the school environment, strengthening safety and creating better learning conditions for students and teachers.
As the institution continues to develop its vocational and technical education programs, the school is seeking meaningful partnerships to help turn its priority projects into reality.
One of the main projects is the construction of a concrete roundabout entrance to the campus.
Belizean Studies teacher Casi Sagastume explained that the current entrance becomes muddy and nearly impassable during the rainy season, creating difficulties for students and teachers entering the school grounds. A concrete entrance would improve accessibility, enhance safety for students, staff and visitors, and give the institution a more welcoming appearance.
Mopan Technical High School is also seeking equipment for its Food and Nutrition Kitchen, sporting equipment, and infrastructure improvements for its football field and basketball court.
These projects would help students gain more practical experience through vocational training while expanding opportunities for sports, physical activity and teamwork. Improved facilities and equipment would also support teachers in delivering lessons and providing students with the resources needed to develop their skills.
Principal Dr. Katie Chulin Jones has expressed gratitude to the school’s valued stakeholders and emphasized the importance of partnerships in education.
Support from individuals, businesses and organizations would help the institution address existing challenges and strengthen its ability to prepare students for the workforce.
By investing in these projects, contributors would be helping young people gain practical knowledge, build confidence and develop the competencies needed for future careers.
Mopan Technical High School is encouraging interested donors and partners to become part of its continued development and help create lasting benefits for students and the wider community.
Those wishing to support the school’s projects are invited to call 823-2028 for more information.
