Wendy Eisenberg and more ease are both prolific collaborators who do a lot of work in New York's experimental circles, and they've crossed paths plenty of times over the years. Back in 2024, Eisenberg and more eaze formed a duo called Whait, and they released their debut song "calm down" on Just Cause Vol. 1, a benefit compilation that raised money for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund. Today, they announce plans for Whait's full-length debut, which is called sympathy at home and which comes out next year.
Right now, both Wendy Eisenberg are plenty busy. Eisenberg, a member of groups like Editrix and the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, went in more of a bucolic but playful singer-songwriter direction on the great self-titled album that they released earlier this year. Mari Rubio, the musician who records as more eaze, contributed to that record, and Eisenberg played on sentence structure in the country, one of two new albums that more eaze released this year.
Eisenberg and more eaze recorded most of sympathy at home at their New York studios when they were in between tours, and lead single "Falling Down" has some of the same playful, off-kilter folk sensibility as Eisenberg's self-titled album. It's a florid, conversational acoustic number with overlapping harmonies and just a bit of glitch in its DNA. Check it out below.
