The Chairman of Media Leaders in Buganda counties, Mr Robert Namugera, together with some members of the Kyaggwe County Media Association, has visited Mawokota and met with the sub county chief and media leaders at county, sub-county, parish and institutional levels to discuss ways of improving media coverage of the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the delegation introduced the planned December media conference, and urged journalists to participate in the gathering.
The team also sensitised media practitioners on proper reporting guidelines, emphasising the protocols that should be followed when covering stories concerning the Kingdom.
Mr Namugera called upon journalists to attend comprehensive training to improve their reporting skills and promote the dissemination of accurate information about the Kingdom.
“We want our journalists to be well equipped with the necessary skills to report accurately and professionally about the Kingdom. This will help ensure that the public receives reliable information about Kingdom activities,” Namugera said.
He emphasised that professional journalism is essential in protecting the credibility of information shared with the public.
The Acting Mawokota county chief, Hajji Hassan Kasujja Kagga, commended Mr Namugera and his team for organising the initiative, describing it as an important step towards improving media standards.
“I commend Mr Namugera and his team for this initiative aimed at improving the quality of media services. It is in line with this year's Kingdom theme, which calls for improving standards in everything we do,” Hajji Kagga said.
The engagement is expected to strengthen cooperation between Kingdom leadership and media practitioners while promoting accurate, responsible and professional reporting.
