Colombo, Oct. 21 (Daily Mirror) - Two spillway gates of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir were opened today (21) due to continuous rainfall in the reservoir’s catchment areas, engineers said.
They urged residents living along both banks of the Kotmale Oya downstream of the dam to remain vigilant.
Engineers warned that the remaining spillway gates could open automatically if heavy rainfall continues in the area.
