A Venda event organiser is going public with serious allegations against Amapiano star Sabelo Zuma, better known as Zuma Msholozi, claiming the performer owes him R28,000 after failing to appear at a Limpopo event on time.
Innocent Mbedzi reportedly booked Zuma, who is one half of Amaroto, as the headline act for the Come and Hang With Us event held in Waterval, Limpopo. According to DailySUN, Mbedzi scheduled Zuma to take to the stage at 1 am, with the venue due to close at 2 am.
Hours late, crowd already gone
Zuma did eventually arrive, but not until approximately 5:28 am, more than four hours after his booked slot. By that point, the evening was long over.
"By that time, the venue had already been closed, and the crowd had left," Mbedzi said.
Rather than seeking an immediate refund, Mbedzi agreed to give the situation another chance after Zuma and his team apologised. They reportedly encouraged him to organise a second event where Zuma would perform, allowing Mbedzi to recoup his losses.
Mbedzi secured another venue, but things quickly unravelled again. He alleges that once word spread that Zuma would be in the area, other organisers hurriedly added him to their line-ups for the same night. Mbedzi believes the multiple bookings in a single evening were what caused Zuma to miss the original Waterval event.

Two Years, no refund
When Mbedzi eventually gave up and formally requested a refund from Zuma's team, he says he was strung along repeatedly.
"I was repeatedly told that I would be paid. Eventually, Zuma blocked me."
The ordeal has reportedly stretched on for close to two years without any resolution.
This is not the first time allegations of this nature have surfaced around the star. In 2025, Briefly News reported on claims that Zuma owed the PMG Homecoming Festival organisers R10,000 after he failed to pitch for their event as well.
