Fashion is a serious business—lest we forget Victoria Beckham’s stance on smiling (she’s anti)—but Ayo Edebiri and Matthieu Blazy are teaming up to deliver a healthy dose of levity.
Today, Edebiri arrived at the BFI London Film Festival to promote her latest film, Clarissa, dressed in a Chanel spring 2026 couture look: a black mid-length pencil skirt and a sleeveless cream top with a peplum of asymmetrical tiers of raw microfringe.

A true party in the back it was; a series of 19 bejeweled silver buttons trailed down Edebiri’s spine before landing in a voluminous tail of feathery fabric. (Blazy is seemingly a fan of all things avian: at his spring 2027 show, which Edebiri attended in Paris last week, he strung a flock of illuminated birds over the Grand Palais.)
The actor finished her look with a classic black sandal and a pair of hand-blown glass Métiers d’art earrings: a jade green post with a dangling carnelian ornament.

“Not to go too philosophical,” Blazy told Vogue’s Nicole Phelps backstage last week, “but I think there is a space for poetry, beauty, joy, and it’s a good remedy to the dark time. I think fashion should give this to women.” With Ayo Edebiri’s couture tailfeathers, it’s safe to say he did just that.
