The Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver depth is shrinking fast.
Pittsburgh added wide receiver Roman Wilson to injured reserve on Saturday due to a finger injury. He joins veteran wideout Michael Pittman Jr. on IR, who was added last week with a re-aggravated foot injury.
Wilson is in his third career season. He is already having a career year through five games and is developing a rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Wilson has caught 14 of his 25 targets for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
He currently has the third-most receiving yards and second-most receiving touchdowns on the team.
The Steelers' wide receiver depth will be thin for their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Ben Skowronek has also been ruled out for the game with a calf injury. While Skowronek is normally known for his special teams work, he likely would have seen an expanded role in the passing game with two wide receivers out.

Without those three WRs, DK Metcalf will continue to lead Pittsburgh. He was questionable for the game due to an illness, but was removed from the injury report on Saturday.
Joining Metcalf will be rookie wide receivers Germie Bernard and Kaden Wetjen. Pittsburgh also elevated wide receivers Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson from the practice squad.
Bernard was selected in the second round of this year's draft. He has played in all five games and has 140 yards on 13 receptions so far. Bernard is still searching for his first career touchdown.
Pittsburgh selected Wetjen in the fourth round of this year's draft. The Steelers have used him primarily as their return man. So far, he has returned 19 kickoffs for 427 yards and eight punts for 69 yards.
Wilson will miss this week's game against Tampa Bay, and then games against the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals, even though the Bengals game comes after the team's Week 9 bye. Pittman has already missed a game, and he would be eligible for the game against Cincinnati if he is activated.
