Overview
Naruto and Ninku are coming together in a four-episode anime announced at New York Comic Con 2026.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura get lost during a mission and meet Fūsuke from the Ninku series.
Masashi Kishimoto and Koji Kiriyama will supervise the project, with several staff members who have worked on both anime.
Naruto has been one of the most loved anime series for years. Fans have followed the story of Naruto Uzumaki from his early days as a young ninja to his growth as a leader. During this journey, the protagonist has explored different sides of friendship, hard work, and successfully completed big battles. Now, fans have another reason to get excited. Naruto is joining hands with Ninku for a special anime crossover.
According to the announcement, the project is named NARUTO×NINKŪ. On October 10, at New York Comic Con 2026, not only was the crossover announced, but fans also received a glimpse of a teaser trailer and a special image featuring characters from both series.
What interests them most is the link between the two shows. Ninku is not just another anime joining the Naruto world; it is a series that helped shape Masashi Kishimoto’s work. This makes the crossover feel more personal.
Naruto and Ninku Crossover Brings Two Ninja Worlds Together
The crossover will have four episodes, and it’s going to be a short series with a fun idea to explore. The plot will follow Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura as they take on a mission from Kakashi. He cannot join them, so Naruto gets the chance to lead the team.
Though Naruto wanted to do the best for his friends, unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned and the entire team got lost in another world. There, they meet Fūsuke, a boy with a face that looks like a frog's. He comes from Ninku, a series about young fighters with special skills.
This meeting is where the crossover begins. Once they meet Fūsuke, Naruto's team will have to deal with a world they do not know. At the same time, viewers will get to see how characters from two different anime series react to each other.
Naruto's role as the team leader is worth watching. In the early days of the series, he often rushed into fights without thinking. Over time, he learned to trust his friends and take responsibility. This mission could give fans another look at how far he has come.
Sasuke and Sakura joining him makes the story even more interesting. Fans who miss seeing the original Team 7 together may enjoy watching them work as a team again.
There is also a deeper reason for bringing these series together. Kishimoto has spoken about how much Ninku influenced his work. He has said that Naruto would not exist without it. He has also described Fūsuke as Naruto's secret mentor.
This connection gives the crossover more meaning. For longtime fans, it could be a chance to see the influence behind a series they love. Newer viewers may also become interested in Ninku after watching the special.

Production Team, Story Details, and What Fans Can Expect
The team behind the crossover is another reason to keep an eye on it. Kishimoto and Ninku creator Koji Kiriyama will supervise the entire production, while Noriyuki Abe will direct the anime. Previously, he has worked in both Ninku and Naruto. Coming to character design, Tetsuya Nishio will handle this part for the crossover series. Again, he has past experience of working in both shows.
Studio Pierrot, which produced the Naruto anime, will make the crossover. Nozomi Fukui will work as assistant director. The music team includes Yasuharu Takanashi, who is known for his work on Naruto Shippuden, along with -Yaiba- and Yusuke Honma.
This combination of staff members is something that helps the crossover feel more exciting. Many of them already know these characters and their worlds, which will make it easier to bring the two stories together without losing what makes each one special.
However, challenges still remain. Four episodes do not leave much room for a long story but the crossover has to introduce the Ninku world, show how Naruto's team fits into it, and give fans a good reason to care about the meeting.
For now, there is no confirmed release date. The teaser and special image have given fans an early look, but more details about the full story and launch plans are still awaited.

Naruto x Ninku Has a Special Story to Tell
The Naruto and Ninku crossover is more than a meeting between two anime series; it brings Naruto together with a show that helped inspire his creation. This link gives the project a story of its own, even before the first episode arrives.
The four-episode run may be short, but the idea has plenty to offer to the audience. The meeting of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura with Fūsuke may lead to fun moments, fresh fights, and a new look at the world that helped shape Naruto.
The production team is another good sign. All the key members are well-aware of both series, which will help them bring the two worlds together in a realistic way. Now, the primary thing is to make the story feel complete and give both series enough time to shine. Fans will have to wait for a release date, but this crossover already has a good reason to stand out.
