A 90,000-strong Wembley Stadium crowd for this weekend’s NFL fixture is under threat, prompting ticket discounts in areas of the London stadium.
The fixture between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans has not yet sold out, after a struggle to shift tickets for the first of three NFL matches – at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – staged in London two weeks ago.
The NFL cut ticket prices to achieve a crowd of over 60,000 for the fixture between the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders a fortnight ago and discounts are available for this weekend’s fixture at the national stadium.
Big blocks of tickets behind end zones in the lower tier are being sold with a 25 per cent discount, but are still £117 apiece, while non-resale and non-obstructed view tickets elsewhere start at £99.
At the time of writing there were tickets available in 92 of Wembley’s 146 blocks, excluding the Royal Box.
NFL’s long history with London
London matches are often some of the most popular overseas matches for the NFL, with this weekend’s match the 45th game staged in the capital.
This year fans have been treated to a match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders and a Jacksonville Jaguars victory over Philadelphia Eagles – which was completed with the last kick of the game.
This weekend will see the Jaguars – which are owned by Fulham owner Shahid Khan – stage yet another match at Wembley, this time against the Houston Texans.
It comes as American Express data revealed that the trio of matches could generate £90m in extra spend, with the majority of attendees set to travel from outside of the capital and each spend an average £450 sum.
In addition to the three London matches this month, the 2026-27 NFL season has seen an expanded international calendar. Matches this year have so far been played in Brazil and Australia, while matches later in the season will take place in France, Spain, Germany and Mexico.
