Sporting Lagos coach Jeffrey Buter has praised Victor Samuel and welcomed Odinaka Okoro’s return from injury ahead of their NPFL clash against Plateau United, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Buter said, “I’m really happy for Samuel after what he has gone through. He is a dynamic player.”
“Odinaka Okoro is back in the team after some time out. As a young lad, I am happy for him too,” he added.
Samuel played a key role in Sporting Lagos’ comeback victory over Bendel Insurance after the visitors took the lead just 18 seconds into the encounter.
The forward restored parity before Gafar Olaniyan completed the turnaround to secure all three points for Sporting Lagos in front of their home supporters.
Samuel’s contribution helped the Lagos-based side recover from their early setback, earning praise from Buter as the team prepares for their next league assignment.
Okoro’s return from injury also provides a boost for Sporting Lagos as they look to maintain their momentum in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The team will turn their attention to their Matchday Nine fixture against Plateau United, where Buter will face his friend and former colleague, Shola Adegun, who is now part of the Jos-based club’s technical setup.
“We go back and prepare ahead of Plateau United on Matchday 9, with Shola Adegun, who is a friend and colleague. We shared the dugout, and he is now with Plateau United,” Buter added.
Sporting Lagos will hope to build on their victory over Bendel Insurance as they seek another positive result in the NPFL.
