HCLTech and Anthropic have joined hands to increase the enterprise adoption of Agentic AI. The deal was announced on October 12, 2026, and the aim of the pact is to make Agentic AI more accessible to businesses for daily productivity. HCLTech is planning to set up a dedicated business unit with a center of excellence to build Agentic AI solutions, with safety and security in mind.
Its teams will use Anthropic's tools, including Claude, Cowork, and Claude Code, to build solutions for different industries. The goal is to help companies move beyond small AI tests and use these tools for real tasks.
The partnership will also bring Claude and Claude Code to the AIForce platform for software engineering workflows, including IT support, code remediation, and digital employee services. Regarding the partnership, Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, said, “AI can only be as useful as it is trustworthy, and we built Claude to give companies the confidence to bring it into their most sensitive and valuable work.” He further added, “Our partnership with Anthropic further strengthens our capabilities to achieve the same.”
AI agents can do more than answer questions. They can help write code, review data, and carry out tasks using business software. HCLTech and Anthropic plan to build tools for specific business needs. Their teams will also help companies bring these tools into daily work.

Why Security and Human Checks Matter
Giving AI agents access to customer records, financial data, or internal systems is risky for a large enterprise. A single mistake may give away millions of users' data to hackers. Therefore, security checks are necessary to limit how much an AI agent can access.
Human approval is also required to avoid unnecessary trouble. In most cases, clear rules can also guide what an agent is allowed to do. Regular checks can help teams spot errors before they cause bigger problems. The HCLTech-Anthropic deal aims to bring AI agents into more business tasks. However, wider use will depend on trust.
