Amazon has knocked even more money off Magic: The Gathering's The Hobbit Play Booster Box, giving Middle-earth trading card fans another chance to grab 30 packs for less than ever. After already slashing the price to a record low in September, the retailer has now brought the whole display below $160 for the first time.
As of Oct. 23, the Magic: The Gathering The Hobbit Play Booster Box is down to just $157.99 at Amazon, saving you $46.96 on its usual $204.95 price after a surprise 23% discount. With that new price drop, you’re effectively only paying a per-pack price of $5.27 for the 30 Play Boosters inside the box.
Confirmed using Mashable’s go-to price tracker camelcamelcamel, this is indeed the lowest price the MTG Hobbit box has seen since it was first listed with the retailer. Shipped and sold by Amazon instead of a third-party retailer, you can get this delivered as soon as Oct. 24 (at the time of writing) if you’re a Prime member.
In case Amazon sells out, keep in mind that Walmart’s listing has also dropped to $157.99, though it's sold by third-party seller Cataclysm Games. Meanwhile, you can save even more at TCGplayer — where the Hobbit Play Booster Box is selling for $140.49 at the lowest. That’s just $1.44 over its $139.05 market price.
The box contains 30 14-card Play Boosters and a traditional foil Middle-earth Box Topper, featuring a special reprint from The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set.
As is usually the case with this type of box, each pack also guarantees a foil card alongside one to three rare or higher-rarity cards, with opportunities to pull special alternate-art and borderless treatments. All in all, you and other collectors will have plenty to chase from Bilbo's adventure to the Lonely Mountain, while also offering enough cards for drafting and building decks with friends.
