Though the Denver Broncos were able to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in overtime on Thursday Night Football, Bo Nix has drawn harsh criticism from many fans and those within the media. No criticism was harsher than what was offered by former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, now an analyst for NFL on Prime Video.
Fitzpatrick's reaction to Nix throwing for just 107 yards in the win following the game quickly went viral.
But that reaction led to some questions from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, particularly due to how critical it was. Florio wondered aloud if Fitzpatrick was put up to it.
Was Ryan Fitzpatrick's harsh take on Bo Nix coordinated?

"Ryan Fitzpatrick went off in a way that you never see any analyst, on any network, go off", Florio said on PFT. "It almost felt personal. It almost felt coordinated. It almost felt like he did that... and I'm just giving you my reaction from watching. I don't know if anyone put Ryan Fitzpatrick up to that, but it almost felt like that. Either Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bo Nix had some sort of beef that we were not previously made aware of, and Ryan Fitzpatrick finally had an opportunity to act out on, or somebody kind of gave him the nod- they gave him the (moves his finger across his nose), he's doing the Broncos a favor- it felt like."
This is a strong opinion from Florio, but he does have a point about analysts not usually being quite this critical of what they see on the field. Florio did allude to the unspoken rule of former players not being too critical of current players, which Fitzpatrick seems to have broken. You can watch the entire episode here.
With all of that being said, it was kind of refreshing to see Fitzpatrick being this passionate about what he said because, let's be honest, he wasn't wrong. Nix did play an incredibly bad game. It's not likely that Fitzpatrick and Nix have some unknown feud going on behind the scenes, but rather just a former quarterback incredibly irritated with what he just watched.
For Florio to suggest that the Broncos may have put Fitzpatrick up to this is, quite frankly, a touch on the ridiculous side. Nix just needs to play better. If not, this kind of reaction is warranted.
