The announcement was made on Saturday, October 17, by Pauline Njoroge, the movement's interim head of communication, who confirmed that the party was preparing to formally receive aspirants for the first time since its establishment in early 2026.
Sifuna sets rules for aspirants
Speaking in Bungoma, party leader Edwin Sifuna stated that any individual wishing to be registered as an aspirant would be prohibited from holding a position within the party at the grassroots level.

The directive is intended to eliminate conflicts of interest and prevent those with organisational influence from gaining an unfair advantage over other candidates during internal nominations.
Njoroge framed the rule as a cornerstone of the movement's broader commitment to transparent and credible party nominations, stating that every aspirant would be guaranteed equal opportunity in the process.
"Under the leadership of H.E. Edwin Sifuna, who is known for his unwavering commitment to the rule of law and integrity, we are committed to free, fair and transparent party nominations. Every aspirant can be assured of an equal opportunity," she said.
Movement draws wide interest ahead of 2027
Linda Mwananchi Movement has attracted considerable national attention since its formation, with a growing number of politicians expressing interest in affiliating with the party. Despite that interest, no aspirant has yet been formally registered under the movement's structures.
Sifuna, who chairs the party, had been endorsed to contest the presidency under the Linda Mwananchi Movement banner in the 2027 General Election, a move that has contributed to the movement's rising profile across the country.
The announcement of aspirant registration marks a significant step in the party's electoral preparations, signalling its transition from a movement building grassroots support to an active political outfit preparing to field candidates at various levels of government.
