UGG season is back, according to JW Anderson. And with the temperature dropping, we can’t say we’re surprised. The designer has teamed up with the footwear brand for a new collection, giving some of its best known styles a fresh look just as we start thinking about swapping our ballet flats for something a little warmer.
Modelled by Kaia Gerber, the collection reworks two UGG favourites: the Tasman slipper and Classic Ultra Mini boot. Both get the JW Anderson treatment, with autumnal shades of green, burnt orange and brown bringing a welcome change to our usual winter shoe rotation.
The loafer-inspired details are what make the collaboration stand out. The white fuzzy lining and signature box-stitching run through the collection, while the new colours give the familiar shoes a new lease of life. It’s still very much UGG, but with a few of Anderson’s design signatures thrown in for good measure.
According to the brand, the idea was to take styles that have become part of our everyday routines and turn them into something more considered, bringing together practicality and creativity. Which, when you think about it, is exactly what you want from a shoe you’ll probably end up wearing on repeat.
Anderson has made a career out of giving everyday dressing a less predictable spin. He founded JW Anderson in London in 2008 and went on to spend 11 years as creative director at Loewe, before being appointed creative director of Dior in 2025, overseeing its womenswear, menswear and haute couture collections.
With autumn dressing back on the agenda, this might be the nudge you need to dig your UGGs out of the wardrobe. The full collection will be available to shop on October 15th on Ugg.com.
