Uniswap Labs has rolled out aggregator hooks, a feature that lets Uniswap v4 send trades through liquidity sitting on external platforms, The Block reported. The hooks are live on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain.
That matters because liquidity in decentralized finance is scattered. A single token pair might trade on half a dozen venues, each with its own pool and its own prices.
What aggregator hooks actually do
A trade that starts in a Uniswap v4 pool can tap liquidity held somewhere else, without the user having to go find it.
According to Uniswap’s developer documentation, the supported external sources include Curve, Fluid, PancakeSwap V3 and Slipstream. Forks of both Uniswap V2 and Uniswap V3 are also on the list.
The documentation describes the hooks as production-ready as of late October 2026. The rollout arrived without a big formal launch announcement. The developer docs, rather than a press release, are what confirm the feature is ready for deployment.
How hooks fit into Uniswap v4
Hooks are smart contracts that attach to individual liquidity pools and change how those pools behave. Aggregator hooks join existing options in that modular toolkit, including Permissioned Pools and Dynamic Fee Hooks. Permissioned Pools let operators limit access to approved participants. Dynamic Fee Hooks let fees move instead of staying fixed.
One detail worth flagging: Uniswap’s official documentation does not reference any independent third-party aggregator hooks. For now, the aggregation layer appears to be Uniswap Labs’ own work rather than something built out by outside developers.
Why Robinhood Chain is in the mix
Robinhood Chain launched in July 2026 and has quickly become a prominent venue for Uniswap activity alongside Ethereum and Base. At times, Robinhood Chain has accounted for more than 50% of certain Uniswap volume metrics. It has also seen substantial hook adoption, which makes it a natural testing ground for a hook-based feature like this one.
What this means for traders and the DeFi landscape
When an order can draw from more pools, it has a better shot at finding depth, which could mean less slippage on large orders in thin markets.
Standalone aggregators have built businesses on sitting above exchanges like Uniswap and deciding where orders go. If Uniswap pools can increasingly route on their own, part of that role moves down into the protocol layer.
There is also a quiet irony in Uniswap tapping liquidity from its own forks. Copycat versions of Uniswap V2 and V3 have siphoned activity for years. Now that liquidity can be pulled back into Uniswap’s orbit.
One is whether independent developers start building their own aggregator hooks, since none appear in the official docs yet. Another is whether volume shares across Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain shift as routing improves. Every new hook is additional smart contract code, and routing across external platforms adds dependencies on those platforms behaving as expected.
