A joint team drawn from Muhoroni, Masogo, and Miwani Police Stations conducted the raid in the Masogo area of Northeast Kano Sub-County after receiving credible intelligence on the gang's activities in the region.
Crude weapons and gang paraphernalia recovered
During the operation, officers searched the suspects and the surrounding area, recovering crude weapons alongside several customised T-shirts bearing the label "Bimos Empire," a name associated with the Katalang gang. The items were seized as exhibits.
Both suspects were escorted to Masogo Police Station, where they were placed in lawful custody awaiting processing and subsequent arraignment in court.
"During the raid, police apprehended two suspects believed to be active members of the illegal group," NPS said in a statement.
Kisumu's insecurity concerns
The arrests come at a time when Kisumu county has experienced heightened insecurity over recent months, with criminal gangs blamed for a surge in violence and unlawful activity across the region.
The multi-agency crackdown signals an intensified effort by security forces to dismantle illegal networks operating in the area.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating outlawed gangs throughout the country, urging residents to support law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activity.
