Families of Nepal landslide victims can seek repayment deferments and flexible payment arrangements from Malaysian banks, with support from dedicated contacts.
PETALING JAYA: Banks in Malaysia have reaffirmed their commitment to providing repayment deferments and flexible payment arrangements for families of victims affected by the Nepal landslide.
The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) said the assistance had been available since early October, with member banks reaching out to affected families to offer support.
ABM said it recognised the distress and uncertainty faced by the families and next of kin, adding that their welfare remained a priority.
“ABM and its member banks remain committed to working constructively with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and all relevant parties to support the affected families with care, compassion and respect,” it said in a statement today.
To facilitate access to assistance, member banks have appointed contact persons to guide affected families, coordinate requests and help with the necessary documentation and administrative processes.
