Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has emerged as the world’s second-richest person after his net worth increased by $122 billion over the past year.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos’ fortune stood at $372 billion, representing a 48.7% increase from the corresponding period in 2025.
The 62-year-old billionaire recorded a $7.31 billion increase in his wealth in the latest assessment, equivalent to a 2% gain.
The increase places Bezos ahead of Alphabet co-founder Larry Page and behind Tesla and SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk, whose fortune is estimated at $1.02 trillion.
The latest development reflects the growing valuations of privately held space exploration companies, which have become major contributors to the fortunes of the world’s wealthiest technology entrepreneurs.
Bezos’ Fortune Reaches $372 Billion
According to Bloomberg’s wealth estimates, Bezos’ fortune is supported by his holdings in Amazon, Blue Origin and artificial intelligence startup Prometheus.
- His Amazon stake remains his largest publicly traded asset, valued at approximately $230.8 billion. Bezos owns about 8.2% of the e-commerce company, according to an August 2026 regulatory filing.
- His investment in Blue Origin is valued at approximately $123.5 billion, following a funding round that valued the company at $140 billion in September 2026.
- Bezos’ stake in Prometheus, an artificial intelligence startup he co-founded in 2025, is valued at approximately $12.2 billion.
- Other assets include approximately $4.7 billion in cash, the Washington Post, valued at $250 million, and his $500 million superyacht, Koru.
- Blue Origin’s latest valuation represents one of the largest contributors to Bezos’ wealth growth.
The company raised $10 billion in September at a post-money valuation of $140 billion, according to PitchBook data.
Bloomberg estimates that Bezos owns approximately 93% of Blue Origin, applying a 5% discount to account for its privately held status.
The valuation adjustment added approximately $85 billion to his estimated fortune in October 2026, significantly strengthening his position among the world’s wealthiest individuals.
