The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano State has recorded an impressive turnout of voters collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the 44 local government areas of the state.
The commission said both newly issued PVCs and previously uncollected cards were being collected by eligible voters.
The Public Relations Officer of INEC in Kano, Nahila Bello Dandago, who disclosed this to Daily Trust said the commission deployed 171,000 PVCs in the first batch for distribution.
“People are turning up to collect their PVCs, and even those with old cards that they have not collected are coming to collect theirs.”

“We have them across all the local government offices, and so far, the turnout for the collection is impressive,” she said.
Dandago said the cards had been distributed to INEC offices across the state’s 44 local government areas to make collection accessible to eligible voters.
She urged voters who had yet to collect their cards to visit the designated INEC offices to do so.
The collection exercise is part of the commission’s efforts to ensure that eligible voters obtain their PVCs ahead of forthcoming elections.
