Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig announced their engagement after their respective exes Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony last month.
Shue confirmed to People on Wednesday hat he and Fiebig got engaged in the spring after dating for three years.
“I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending,” the businessman said.
Shue, 59, explained that he “had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me” and noted that he’s found “the right person” in Fiebig, 48, which he said “has been an extraordinary gift.”
“Again, I don’t know how it happened, but I can say I’m grateful,” he shared.
The Forum co-founder also admitted that while he “had to grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility,” he discovered that “the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving.”
“You don’t know how you meet the person who’s right for you,” he says. “It just happened. And you can say how it’s just this kind of freak luck that this is how you ended up getting to know that person in a way that would allow you to reveal yourself and for her to reveal herself.”
Shue said that he and Fiebig fell in love from being “able to share ourselves with each other in a time where we both needed a friend.”
Page Six has reached out to Robach and Holmes’ reps for comment.
In the ultimate plot twist, Shue and Fiebig started dating in 2023 after their exes got together, Page Six exclusively reported at the time.
“It turned into something else, and they’re connected over their values. It’s bigger than the affair now,” a source told us.
Famously, Robach and Holmes’ months-long workplace romance was exposed in November 2022, while Robach was still married to Shue, and Holmes to Fiebig, with whom he shares daughter Sabine, 13.
Following the bombshell news, Holmes, 49, and Robach, 53, were ousted from “GMA3” in January 2023. A network spokesperson told Page Six at the time it was “best for everyone” that they “move on” after the scandal.
Last month, Page Six confirmed that the journalists exchanged vows in Arkansas in a private ceremony on Sept. 19.
The wedding took place a day after they applied for their marriage license.
Since confirming their romance, Holmes and Robach have denied
