Riyadh – Saudi Arabia emphasized on Tuesday that it will not allow its security or freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait to be threatened, vowing that the Iranian-backed Houthis will face consequences for their attacks on airports and oil facilities in the Kingdom.
In a statement issued after a meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi government affirmed that it "will not allow its security or freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait to be threatened."
It added that "the terrorist Houthi militia will face the consequences of its crimes and repeated heinous attacks on Saudi Arabian airports, as well as on Mecca, Medina, and civilian and economic facilities."
Earlier, Saudi Arabia called on civilians to evacuate the site of the Yemeni oil company, the "Al-Sabaha Central Station" in Sana'a, for their safety, in preparation for a targeted operation.
The spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki al-Maliki, said in a statement on his "X" account that the evacuation order included the location specified on the map attached to the statement.
Al-Maliki had previously announced that a warning would be issued to civilians to evacuate a site in Sana'a, with the aim of carrying out a qualitative operation.
