OnePlus has confirmed which of its devices will receive Android 17, with 24 smartphones and tablets set to get the update over the coming months. However, there’s a major change this time around, as the company is replacing OxygenOS with Oppo’s ColorOS.
The announcement follows OnePlus’ decision to shut down its global operations in July, although the company previously assured existing users that their devices would continue receiving software updates throughout their promised support periods.
That commitment now comes with a change in software. Rather than releasing another version of OxygenOS, OnePlus will move supported devices to ColorOS, starting with Android 17. The switch shouldn’t feel entirely unfamiliar, though, as OxygenOS has shared much of its design and functionality with Oppo’s software for several years.
According to the company’s official rollout schedule, the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 will be the first to receive Android 17 on October 29, followed by the OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s on October 30.
The rollout will continue in November 2026, reaching the OnePlus Open, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Nord 6, OnePlus Nord CE6 and OnePlus Pad 3.
Another eight devices are scheduled for December, including the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite, OnePlus Nord CE5, OnePlus Pad 2 and OnePlus Pad Go 2.
Owners of slightly older and more affordable models will have to wait a little longer. The OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus N6, OnePlus N6x, OnePlus N6 Lite and OnePlus Pad Lite are expected to receive the update during the first quarter of 2027.
Meanwhile, the upcoming OnePlus 16 will launch with Android 17 already installed in China.
While the end of OxygenOS marks a significant change for OnePlus, the confirmed rollout should offer some reassurance to existing users. The brand may be stepping away from international markets, but its supported phones and tablets aren’t being left behind when it comes to software updates.
