As Formula 1 arrives in Austin, Texas for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix at COTA, McLaren has announced a partnership to help provide aid to those who live with immune-mediated disease.
McLaren’s new partnership is with global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie on October 20. AbbVie will join the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team as an Official Pharmaceutical Partner, starting at the United States Grand Prix.
The campaign will officially launch at the 2026 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin and continue into the 2027 Formula 1 season.

The new partnership will launch AbbVie Race to Innovate, a campaign connecting McLaren’s performance on the track with support for people living with immune-mediated diseases. Through Race to Innovate, AbbVie will donate $10,000 for every 10 Constructors’ Championship points earned by McLaren, reflecting the approximately 10 percent of people worldwide affected by autoimmune diseases.
Donations will support patient advocacy organizations around the world that provide education, resources and support.
“We’re proud to welcome AbbVie to McLaren Racing at such an exciting moment for our team, ahead of the United States Grand Prix,” said Matt Dennington, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing. “This partnership brings together two organizations that share a pursuit of progress, whether that’s pushing the limits of performance on track or advancing life-changing science off it. We’re looking forward to working with AbbVie to tell powerful stories about what it takes to drive progress, and to showcase the people and ideas behind it.”

For nearly 30 years, AbbVie has helped advance innovation in immunology, delivering treatment options to people living with immune-mediated diseases, while McLaren Racing continues to push the boundaries of performance through engineering excellence, innovation and teamwork. Together, AbbVie and McLaren Racing will bring to life the stories behind innovation, celebrating the breakthroughs, dedication and human ingenuity required to drive progress in both medicine and motorsport.
Building on the program’s inaugural year, AbbVie will continue donating for the full 2027 season while storytelling and fan engagement efforts will further highlight the shared pursuit of progress at the heart of the partnership.
AbbVie’s pursuit is to redefine the standard of care for patients living with immune-mediated conditions, with the goal of helping them live a life free from the limitations of their disease.
