KUALA LUMPUR: Mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron–Lai Pei Jing reached their second Super 750 semi-final of the season at the Denmark Open on Friday.
The world No. 51 pulled off an upset over Japan's world No. 18 Akira Koga–Natsu Saito 21-15, 24-22 in their quarter-final clash at the SJF Bank Arena.
The Malaysians had reached their first Super 750 final at last month's China Masters, finishing runners-up.
Pang Ron–Pei Jing will face either China's Feng Yang Zhe–Huang Dong Ping or Taiwan's Ye Hong Wei–Nicole Chan in Saturday's semi-finals.
