Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are bringing their rivalry into the sneaker market, with Nike's glow-in-the-dark Caitlin 1 “Halloween” colorway facing off against a Reese's-inspired Reebok collaboration featuring the Atlanta Dream star.
The releases give basketball fans two distinctive designs tied to the players' signature footwear and comes at an interesting time as Reese recently delivered a standout performance in the WNBA Finals, recording 30 points and 16 rebounds as Atlanta defeated the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 to level the series at 1-1.
Her new footwear arrives as the Dream pursue the franchise's first championship and she continues to star after her transfer from the Chicago Sky to Atlanta, whilst the Indiana Fever’s Clark is watching from home after being eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces earlier in the WNBA Playoffs.
The 24-year-old guard’s seasonal Nike edition embraces Halloween with luminous details, whilst Reese's latest Reebok sneakers draw inspiration from the familiar chocolate and peanut butter candy brand.
Both models retain their basketball identity while using distinctive visual themes to attract fans beyond the court as Clark's edition emphasizes luminous Halloween detailing, whereas Angel’s collaboration builds its appeal around a recognizable confectionery brand.
The Caitlin 1 “Jinx” is scheduled to arrive Friday, October 23, as part of Nike Basketball’s 10-model Halloween collection. Priced between $140 and $150 in adult sizing, the shoe uses a predominantly black palette with Ghost Green, Mint Foam and Racer Blue accents.
The standout feature is its glow-in-the-dark finish, which extends across the outsole, upper accents and layered Swooshes. Cat-eye details appear inside the tongue, while the insoles feature an illustration of Clark wearing a witch’s mask, connecting the design to its Halloween theme.
The “Jinx” name also has a personal connection, referencing a neighbor’s cat that frightened Clark during her childhood. Raised green “22” and “CC” details highlight her jersey number and initials, giving the seasonal design a direct link to the Fever star.
Nike’s launch follows strong early demand for the Caitlin 1. The debut colorways arrived October 1 and nearly sold out within roughly two hours, with CNBC reporting that Nike described the release as the biggest women’s signature shoe launch in its history.
Reese’s new Reebok collaboration takes a different approach, using the candy brand’s signature brown, orange and yellow colors. The sneakers feature the Reese’s chocolate brand logo on the tongue flap and arrive in a special orange shoebox, with prices set at $160 for unisex sizes and $130 for children.
"The Reese's x Reebok Angel Reese 1 brings Angel's unapologetic style and dominant on-court energy to a bold collaborative colorway inspired by the iconic candy brand," Reebok said. "Rich chocolate and peanut butter tones collide with performance-driven design details built for today's versatile game.
“They're a bold fusion of performance innovation and expressive design, built to match Angel's dynamic on-court dominance and culture-driving presence off it. Engineered to support Angel's relentless energy in the game and built to inspire and impress, these basketball shoes balance ethereal aesthetics with elite-level performance."
The Caitlin 1 platform includes an Opticast upper, forefoot Air Zoom Turbo cushioning and Cushlon foam. The Halloween edition retains that underlying setup, with the glow-in-the-dark finish serving as a visual feature rather than evidence of any performance upgrade.
