Traditional handicrafts and handloom products from across India are drawing visitors to the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar 2026, organised by the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (Lepakshi) in Vijayawada. The exhibition, being held at the Maris Stella Indoor Stadium near NTR Circle on Pantakalava Road, will remain open for visitors until October 18.
Around 70 artisans and handloom weavers from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and other States are participating in the event, showcasing a wide range of traditional crafts and region-specific products.
The exhibition features several popular handicrafts, including Kondapalli and Etikoppaka toys, Kalamkari products, wooden carvings, terracotta items, leather puppets, crochet lace, imitation jewellery and Venkatagiri sarees.
Visitors can also explore Telangana’s lacquer bangles and Pochampally ikat sarees, Karnataka’s Channapatna toys, Kolhapuri footwear, Chikankari garments and bamboo products from Assam.
The bazaar offers artisans a direct platform to market their products, connect with customers and expand their business opportunities.
Lepakshi Chairman Pasupuleti Hariprasad said such exhibitions are essential for preserving India’s traditional crafts and handloom heritage while enhancing the economic prospects of artisans.
He appealed to the public to visit the exhibition and encourage artisans, helping safeguard the country’s rich artistic traditions for future generations.
