The Tamil Nadu All Farmers’ Association Coordination Committee has urged the State government to find a solution to the issues faced by tenant farmers.
In a statement on October 20, Co-ordinator of the Committee P.R. Pandian said the tenant farmers were unable to avail the benefits of welfare schemes for farmers implemented by the governments at the Centre and in the State and as well as faced difficulty in availing crop loans and fertilisers from cooperative societies.
He urged the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led State government to come to the rescue of the tenant farmers by securing exemption to the latter through the courts so that the tenant farmers could avail the benefits of government welfare schemes for farmers and crop loans.
