The company held a board of directors meeting on Oct. 12 and resolved to change its corporate name to 'DK Centellian.' The decision reflects the company's vision to clearly define its direction toward science-based health and beauty, and to expand its business scope across all fronts. The 'DK' in the new name carries the 58 years of accumulated history, scientific credibility, and corporate roots that Dongkuk Pharmaceutical has built. The following 'Centellian' symbolizes the company's commitment to creating future-oriented value based on that accumulated expertise. A Dongkuk Pharmaceutical representative explained, "We are pursuing the name change in order to meet customers around the world in a broader business domain that encompasses not only prevention and treatment, but also health and beauty in the new future." Dongkuk Pharmaceutical plans to accelerate its entry into global markets, using this name change as a turning point. Building on the pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities it has established in the domestic market, the company intends to diversify its business portfolio by providing healthcare solutions that meet global standards. Administrative procedures for the name change are also set to begin in earnest. Dongkuk Pharmaceutical has disclosed that it will convene an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on Nov. 27 for the purpose of partially amending its articles of incorporation. If the proposed amendment passes at the general meeting, the new corporate name will be officially confirmed.
