A campus accustomed to celebrating NCHSAA state titles has another in which to relish.
South Point freshman dynamo Chelsea Xia claimed the NCHSAA 5A state girls tennis title Saturday, Oct. 24, in Holly Springs, winning in straight sets over East Lincoln’s Sidney Dann (6-3, 7-5).
Her win is the Red Raiders’ first individual title in program history and second all-time among Gaston County standouts. Highland Tech's Madison Darnell was first to achieve the feat in 2023.
