Like many Kenyans who seek employment abroad, Rebecca had left for Saudi Arabia hoping to earn enough to support her household and give her children a stable future.
Her death has left those who depended on her without both a provider and a mother.
Did Rebecca have children?
The financial burden of repatriation has proved too heavy for the family to carry alone. Despite reaching out within their immediate circle, which includes church members, neighbours and friends, the required amount remains out of reach.
The family's distress is compounded by the reality that Rebecca's children are still in school and now face an uncertain future.
The family's plea was shared on Facebook on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, through Diasporamessenger.com, a platform that regularly amplifies calls for help from Kenyans facing hardship both locally and abroad.
Rebecca's family's plea to Kenyans
The post has since been circulated across multiple online communities in the hope of reaching compassionate well-wishers.
The family is urging anyone in a position to contribute, however modestly, to come forward and help them bring Rebecca home.
Those who cannot contribute financially are being encouraged to share the appeal so it reaches a wider audience.
Kenyan woman dies in Indonesia
In another story, TUKO also highlighted facts about Ashley Atieno Odhiambo, a 26-year-old Kenyan who died in Indonesia after a brief illness while working there.
Her family raised KSh 500,000 of the KSh 860,000 needed to bring her body home, and her sister says appeals for government assistance have gone unanswered.
