SK Ecoplant said donations gathered voluntarily by its employees in the course of daily life have topped 30,000 items, marking progress in the company's social value efforts.
The company said on the 15th that its resource circulation campaign "CE100," short for Circular Economy 100 and launched in 2024, had surpassed 30,000 cumulative donated items.
The CE100 campaign is a resource circulation-based community program in which employees donate reusable goods they no longer use, including clothing, accessories, household items, books and small appliances. The collected goods are channeled through the Miral Welfare Foundation's Goodwill Store to create jobs for people with disabilities and support their independence.
The milestone was reached as workers at headquarters and at major work sites including Yongin and Cheongju took part. SK Ecoplant has regularly installed large collection bins in the headquarters lobby to make donating easier, and has offered multiple ways to participate, such as in-person drop-offs and parcel delivery, tailored to the conditions at each business site and work site.
The company has also linked the CE100 campaign to in-house bazaars, establishing a virtuous cycle of resource circulation and giving. Bazaars are held using the goods donated by employees, with the proceeds going toward hiring employees with disabilities and supporting their wages.
Environmental giving tied to local communities is running in parallel. Proceeds from selling waste plastic bottles and cans collected at headquarters and work sites were used to support nearby child welfare facilities, and new batteries obtained by returning used ones were delivered along with the funds, broadening the value of resource circulation.
"Passing 30,000 donated items is the result of our members steadily practicing resource circulation in their daily lives," an SK Ecoplant official said. "We will continue to run resource circulation and giving programs that our members can take part in voluntarily, both at headquarters and at work sites."
