Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden’s Relationship Timeline, From Hometown Friends to Fiancés

Tyler Cameron was once the guy who every Bachelor fan wanted to see handing out roses, but it turned out he needed to find true love offscreen. Tyler is currently engaged to Tate Madden, who is from his same hometown of Jupiter, Florida. Sometimes, you travel across the country to star on a reality TV show, become a celebrity heartthrob, end up dating Gigi Hadid, take on a new job as a social media influencer with 2.2 million followers, and it turns out, your soulmate was right there at home the whole time. Life, man!

Tyler and Tate are engaged now, but they were together for a couple of years before he got down on one knee, and they even worked together before they started dating. So, before they hit the dance floor together for Dedication Night on Dancing With the Stars, let’s take a walk down memory lane with their relationship timeline.

Tate and Tyler met after being introduced by a mutual friend. During an appearance on Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice, Tate shared that she was invited by a friend to hang out on a boat and it ended up being Tyler’s boat. “If you ask Tyler, he does not remember meeting me. And we had a very long conversation that night,” she said.

And that wasn’t even the only time they hung out, according to Tate, but he just wasn’t remembering. When Tate and Tyler both appeared on former Bachelorette star Jason Tartick’s podcast, Tyler said he and Tate knew each other for a “few months” when they began working together, but Tate said it was “like two years,” which would put us at 2020.

Even though they had crossed paths with their friend groups, Tyler and Tate got to know each other in a different capacity when she began working on his home renovation series Going Home with Tyler Cameron. Tate did promotional photography and social media for the show, and she also briefly appears on the docuseries.

“He thought I met him when I started helping him for the show,” Tate said on Gia Giudice’s podcast.

By the end of the year, Tate and Tyler addressed dating rumors before they were actually dating. In December 2022, she replied to a question on TikTok about whether they were together.

“We are not dating. I actually work for Tyler,” she said. “But he is madly in love with me and he asks me to be his girlfriend every day, and I tell him he needs to calm down and it’s inappropriate.” The camera then panned over to Tyler, and he said, “Are you out of your goddamn gourd?”

Tyler and Tate had their first date in September 2023, according to E! News. Tyler told the publication that their “first time trying to be romantic” was when they went out to dinner for her birthday.

Tyler told Page Six in April 2024 that he was dating someone, but did not reveal who it was. “I’d say I’m less floating [around in the dating scene], more dating someone,” he said.

Similarly, a few months later in July 2024, Tyler spoke to Entertainment Tonight about being in a relationship, but again, did not share his girlfriend’s identity.

“She’s a great girl. It’s something that we’ve been working on and keeping private,” he said. “But there will be time when we come out. That’s what happens, you go home and find a girl.”

He noted that they wanted to keep their relationship private for a while, because of the attention and opinions that would come. “With social media, anytime you post something or you post your relationship it becomes now everyone’s chance to comment on it and have their views on it,” the model said. “That’s a stage we’ll cross eventually. But right now it’s better to just build a good, strong relationship.”

In September 2024, Tyler and Tate went public with their relationship in an Amazon Live video. As reported by People, they also confirmed that they were living together.

That same month, Tate shared an Instagram post showing herself and Tyler living it up in France.

Tate and Tyler got engaged in August 2026 when he proposed to her on the beach in Florida.

“The proposal was nerve-wracking because everything I wanted to say was gone,” he told People. The 33-year-old added that he wrote down his proposal speech so he could share it with Tate “no matter what, but it all left me. I freaked out.” Hey, not remembering is on theme for him!

Tyler began his Dancing With the Stars journey, and since week one, Tate has been in the audience cheering him on.
